Lewisham flood 1968

Under water – Remember Lewisham’s flood of 1968?

50 years ago, in September 1968, Lewisham was under water from a huge storm and flooding including from the Quaggy and Ravensbourne rivers.

What happened and why?

Using amazing archive pictures Emily Hay (who remembers the floods as a child and who has gathered together local memories and photos) and Paul Browning (local history blogger aka ‘Running Past’) will look at what happened then and encourage a discussion of what happened next and what flood risk looks like now.

7.45 for 8pm start
