Note the large number of green spaces that the Quaggy goes through, which is unusual for an urban river. It is these green spaces that provide the best and easiest opportunities for restoring the river. The full extent of the River Quaggy can be seen in the second map.

2. Map of the Ravensbourne river system
The River Quaggy, known as the Kyd Brook in its upper reaches, rises at Locksbottom, west of Orpington. It flows for 17 kilometres through the boroughs of Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham and joins the River Ravensbourne in central Lewisham in front of the station.
The River Ravensbourne catchment drains an area of approximately 180 square kilometres, discharging into the River Thames via Deptford Creek. Its river system includes approxinately 66 kilometres of main river. The catchment rises to 270 metres in altitude at its southern edge on the North Downs and has a steep average gradient of 1 in 200.
