QWAG’s Green Chain walk linked Chinbrook Meadows and Sutcliffe Park.
In March of this year we explained how both Chinbrook Meadows and Sutcliffe Park have won a steady stream of accolades since their superb transformations – proposed and championed by QWAG – five and three years ago. So, when we were asked to contribute a walk for this year’s Green Chain Walking Festival, there was really only one choice – a walk from one to the other.

Chinbrook Meadows’ outdoor classroom is the ideal location to learn the story of the hugely successful regeneration of the park.
The Nature Reserve at Marvels Lane.
The Quaggy could be broken out of its unneccesary concrete channel and incoporated into the reserve.
The tree-lined valley of the Little Quaggy looks distinctly rural in this view looking westwards from King John’s Walk, just south of the Sidcup Road.
A rare ancient meadow north of the road is under threat from damage caused by motorbikes and ill-advised tree planting by Greenwich Council.
A bridge over the River Quaggy in Sutcliffe Park is a great place to stand and admire the way the wetland habitats in the regenerated park have matured.
