A meeting for community groups in the borough
Wednesday 18 January 2017
7.45pm for 8pm start
Venue: Methodist Church Hall, Albion Way, central Lewisham, SE13 6BT
Are developers grabbing land and doing as they please?
Is the government right to claim its planning reforms ‘put communities in control’?
How well is Lewisham Council standing up for local needs – whether quality affordable housing or properly protected and maintained parks, streets and open spaces?
And are cuts and other pressures making it easy for developers to push their luck with the Council and the local community alike?
Many of the community groups QWAG has contact with say they have found it harder, more opaque and confusing for communities to have their say or even get basic information about plans for their area.
Some also report being given the run around or being ignored when they raise legitimate questions and concerns with developers and decision makers.
At this meeting community groups across Lewisham borough will explore these and other concerns and decide what action is needed.
